Day 1: Arrival in San Jose, Airport pick-up

According to your arrival time, our driver will wait for you at Juan Santamaria

International Airport on time and transfer you to the hotel. The rest time of the

day is left for your own arrangement. You can have a rest in the hotel or go to

visit Central Market and Central Park.

Day 2: Transfer from San Jose to La Fortuna, Visit Sarchi village en

route In the morning, the guide and the driver will pick you up at the hotel and start

our best Costa Rica tours. We will drive to La Fortuna where the Arenal

Volcano is located. It is 150 kilometers (90 miles) away and can be reached in

about 3 hours. In the midway, we will go sightseeing the Sarchi folk culture

village. It is the most famous handicraft center of Costa Rica. There, you can

see the most well-known local handicraft – painted oxcarts. After arrival, we

will check in the hotel and have a rest.

Day 3: Highlight tour at Arenal Volcanoes National Park,

We will spend the whole day exploring Arenal Volcanoes National Park today.

The scenic spots covered in the morning are the best known and the most

active volcano in Costa Rica, Arenal Volcano; Costa Rican largest lake Arenal

Lake; and La Fortuna Waterfall. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a skywalk in

Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridge Park. When going through the tropical forests,

we will see the lush plants, varieties of birds and animals. In the evening,

enjoy a relaxing bathing in Los Lagos Hots Springs.

Day 4: Transfer from La Fortuna to Monteverde

Today, we will head to Monteverde by the way of jeep-boat-jeep. The whole

journey is 60 kilometers (37 miles) and we will get there in 2.5 hours. First,

take the jeep to the port by Arenal Lake. Then sail across the water to the

opposite port by boat. After getting off, transfer to another jeep to Monteverde.

On the way, you can appreciate the tropical landscapes. Upon arrival, we will

deal with the hotel check-in. Then, you can enjoy the rest time of the day as

you like.

Day 5: Full day canopy tour at Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve

A full day trip at Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is arranged in todays’ best

Costa Rica tours. After breakfast, we will travel across the Hanging Bridges in

the Cloud Forest, then enjoy a hiking tour for 2 - 3 hours among the floras and

faunas.

In the afternoon, you will be led to Monteverde Sky Adventures Park to enjoy

a Zipline tour. Inside, there is the longest and highest zipline in Latin America

which enables you to fly over the tropical forests like the superman. In

addition, we will also experience the exciting Mega Tarzan Swing. In the

evening, we will search for different animals and listen to their calls. If luckily,

you will meet two-toed sloth and kinkajou.

Day 6: Transfer from Monteverde to Manuel Antonio, with Crocodile Boat

Tour Today, we will drive 190 kilometers (120 miles) to Manuel Antonio in Quepos

which will be reached in about 4 hours. During the way, the guide will lead you

to take part in a Crocodile Boat Tour Adventure Connection at Tarcoles River

and see the breathtaking performance of crocodile.

Day 7: Hiking at Manuel Antonio National Park & Free time on the beach

Today’s best Costa Rica tour packages is to tour

Manuel Antonio National Park to look for monkeys, birds and even three-toed

sloths in the dense forests. The afternoon is the free time for you. You can

spend the leisure time in either enjoying a sun bath at the white beach or

having a rest in the hotel.

Day 8: Drive from Manuel Antonio back to San Jose

Climate in Costa Rica:

The best weather in the country is in the central San José valley, there's a breeze, and temperatures generally average 72 ° Fahrenheit (22 ° Celsius).  Clothing Tips 

This is a casual tour. Casual wear is suggested for sightseeing and daytime travelling. Dress code for evenings is casual. Suit jackets for men and dresses for women are never required on the Caravan’s Costa Rica tour. It is recommended to wear drip-dry clothing (such as that offered by Columbia, ExOfficio and Travelsmith) in the rainforest. Shirts with long sleeves and long pants are recommended for rain forest and cloud forest hikes. Pants that zip at the knee to convert into shorts are very comfortable in the rainforest
